A Modern Institute Concept

The AIRS Institute for the Advancement of International Rehabilitation Standards was founded in January 2016 as a not-for-profit organization and has its head office in Basel, Grellingerstr. 27, Switzerland. AIRS is set to become an important facilitator for advancing international standards in rehabilitation. On May 1st, 2017 the Institute got a Chinese representative office and working base inside the Orenda Psychosomatic Medicine Museum at Jacksonville Yuanxiang, Beijing.

As a first achievement, the innovative pediatric rehabilitation program "KidsFirst - On Your Feet" has been formulated as a new pediatric rehabilitation standard together with Prof. Schönau and his team at University of Cologne affiliated Pediatric Rehabilitation Clinic, UniReha.

The AIRS knowledge base is growing continuously thanks to the contributions of its members and as a result of conferences and workshops relating to the core matter of developing new standards in rehabilitation and beyond – prevention, healthy-living urbanization and optimization of individual health goals.

Psychos Medi Museum

AIRS encourages an emerging community dedicated to improving health on the planet by facilitating the transition from established health management structures to innovative solutions similar to the ways demonstrated at the Orenda Psychosomatic Medicine Museum.

AIRS is confident that views on medicine and healthcare can be transformed if the synergies of Western and Eastern medicine are leveraged for the benefit of patients.

AIRS is calling on the advanced expert community, both the young generation and the old, to develop and refine our current state of knowledge about medicine and health and on this basis to formulate new standards in the field of medical rehabilitation. AIRS has gathered an international scientific committee and started research projects in China and elsewhere, organizing workshops, conferences, summits, think-tank retreats and summer schools.
